When COVID 19 pandemic broke out there was a lot of disruption with schools and many businesses closed for physical operations, through digital Literacy for teachers we equipped them to use digital tools available to provide access to information to the youth and increase collaborations between students and their teachers. The one-week training was conducted in person at Pagirinya secondary school. It covered the following;
- Use of mobile devices such as smartphones for information access.
- Internet use
- Mobile device maintenance and safety precautions.
- Social media platform for easy collaboration e.g. WhatsApp.
- Ethical Conduct over the internet/data security
15 participants from both refugees and host communities attended the training.
Youth Empowerment Foundation-YEF-Adjumani is a community youth-led Media organization founded at Pagirinya Refugee Settlement in 2017 to support peacebuilding, promote gender equality, ignite creativity and innovation through media advocacy, mentorship, and ICT-based learning.
